From Conversations to Action: DARED at NAYEF 2026

DARED's Director, Tamfu Kilem Bongwa, represented the organization as a selected delegate at the first edition of the National Youth Economic Forum (NAYEF 2026), held under the patronage of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT).

The forum brought together government officials, development partners, entrepreneurs, innovators, creatives, and fellow young leaders, all committed to building a stronger and more inclusive economy for Cameroon.

Lessons that will stay with us

• Young people must be actively involved in shaping the policies and programs that affect them. As Mr. Ngwane Denzel aptly put it, “Anything for young people without young people is against young people.”
• Collaboration is more powerful than competition. When organizations and individuals work together around a shared vision, the impact is far greater.
• Talent needs the right environment to thrive. Opportunities grow where there are supportive policies, accountability, access to information, and strong networks.
• Creativity becomes sustainable value through branding, communication, and storytelling. Cameroon has immense talent, and more must be done to transform it into globally recognized brands.
• Leadership begins with self-awareness: understanding our strengths, acknowledging our weaknesses, and committing ourselves to serving others.

DARED returns from NAYEF encouraged and even more committed to advancing youth empowerment through entrepreneurship, innovation, finance, and inclusive development.

The conversations have taken place. The work now is to turn them into meaningful action.
